Project Summary

A long-lasting topical solution that activates the skin’s natural bacteria to repel mosquitoes for up to 12 days, offering safe, eco-friendly protection for outdoor enthusiasts and high-risk areas.

Project Description

Our project aims to revolutionize mosquito protection with a long-lasting, eco-friendly topical solution that works with the skin’s natural bacteria to repel mosquitoes for up to 12 days. By delivering targeted instructions to harmless skin microbes, the formulation enables them to produce mosquito-repelling compounds, creating a durable, sweat- and water-resistant barrier. This user-friendly solution, available in formats like a stick or cream, provides convenient, extended protection for outdoor enthusiasts while addressing the urgent global health need for effective mosquito-borne disease prevention. Designed with safety, reversibility, and environmental sustainability in mind, the technology ensures temporary, non-invasive changes to the skin microbiome without harming beneficial insects or the ecosystem. By offering a practical alternative to conventional repellents, our solution reduces chemical exposure, packaging waste, and the burden of frequent reapplications, making it accessible for both recreational users and vulnerable communities worldwide.
