Project Summary

Aquilux Flow is a modular, low-energy water purification system designed to improve access to clean drinking water in remote and Indigenous communities. The system removes contaminants by combining reusable filtration, electrostatic separation, and vapor-based purification. Water is heated to produce vapor, which leaves heavy metals, sediments, and pathogens behind before condensing into clean water in a sealed chamber.

Project Description

Aquilux Flow is a modular, low-energy water purification system designed to improve access to clean drinking water in remote and Indigenous communities. The system removes contaminants by combining reusable filtration, electrostatic separation, and vapor-based purification. Water is heated to produce vapor, which leaves heavy metals, sediments, and pathogens behind before condensing into clean water in a sealed chamber.
Unlike traditional filtration systems that rely on disposable cartridges, Aquilux Flow uses reusable materials and surface-engineered layers to reduce clogging, minimize biofilm formation, and lower maintenance needs. The system also integrates thermoelectric modules that recover small amounts of energy from temperature differences within the device, helping power internal components with minimal electricity.
The goal of Aquilux Flow is to provide a reliable, scalable purification solution that can operate in off-grid environments and support long-term water security for underserved communities.
