Fire Stopper – Our robotic platform will be able to to autonomously navigate and drive within the complex terrain of a burning forest

The robot will assist in fighting forest fires by performing tasks such as, but not limited to, the following: detailed 3D LIDAR augmented GIS/GPS mapping of localized forest fire, spraying of a fire retardant, cutting down of trees to create a fire break or to reduce available fuel and burn speed, and gathering and transmitting detailed GIS/GPS mapping of localized atmospheric conditions with the burning area.
