For over 35 years MindFuel, a registered charity, has been supporting students and their teachers with award winning STEM learning resources, that inspire students towards STEM-related studies and careers.
Job Description
The Program Developer will support the Programs Team in developing STEM programming, resources and communication materials for middle/high school and post-secondary students/youth, as well as at events and a summer camp. This extra-curricular programming is to engage youth in developing an innovation mindset, and support transformative, experiential learning, effective mentoring and project-based learning teaching practices. This role reports to the Director of Programs and works as a team member of the Programs team.
9-week Term Employment between: May 18, 2026 – August 14, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Design extra-curricular and curriculum-aligned STEM based project-based learning, design thinking, innovation & entrepreneurship content, resources and/or communication materials for middle/high school & post-secondary students, teachers, and community educators.
- Support in the logistics and materials development for MindFuel led workshops.
- Assist in the development of STEM content and resources, such as design challenges, DIY activity sheets, short ‘how to’ info videos and/or communication videos.
- Support in collating and analyzing student and teacher feedback for program development; and data organization of program resources and content.
Qualifications and Skills
- A high school diploma (or in process) or post-secondary degree (or in process) with experience and/or training in STEM is an asset
- Minimum combined 2-years’ STEM experience and project coordination, or equivalent related studies or work experience
- Passion for empowering, inspiring and supporting youth in developing knowledge, skills and
- competencies in STEM, innovation, digital technology, and entrepreneurialism
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work with youth from diverse backgrounds, life experiences, and abilities, including underrepresented youth in STEM, such as Indigenous, newcomers and rural/remote communities
- Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment either in-person or remotely
- Excellent presentation skills & high comfort level speaking to students and educators
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and use of social media applications
- Ability to set objectives in support of vision and translate it into action
- Strong analytical, problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills
This Opportunity
- Candidate must be between 15 and 30 years old, be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act [S.C. 2001, c. 27]; and be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
- Required to pass a pre-employment background check in accordance with applicable law.
- Hybrid work schedule (2 days in office / 2 days at home) of 30 hours per week with an expected start date of May 18, 2026, or later (to be agreed upon).
- Compensation: $20 per hour.
